Special Activities and Projects
In 2016, the first group of FANHS-HSC members and friends since Hawai’i State became a FANHS chapter traveled “off islands” to attend the FANHS National 16th Biennial Conference. FANHS Metro NY Chapter hosted the 16th Biennial Conference during June 22-26, 2016. A wonderful introduction to a FANHS Conference. Thanks, Metro New York!
Many of the FANHS-HSC attendees participated in this Conference’s Fashion Show. They currently hold great New York fashion runway bragging rights. One of our members, was awarded a special prize for her ensemble—big NY fashion runway bragging rights.
Several FANHS HSC members made presentations on the history and present-day lives of Filipinas and Filipinos in Hawai’i.
FANHS-HSC, with the help of a member and donor, presented its first $500.00 scholarship to enable a young student to attend the 16th Biennial FANHS National Conference.
In 2018, a group of 21 individuals–FANHS HSC members and friends—traveled to Chicago to attend the FANHS National 17th Biennial Conference hosted by the FANHS Midwest, Greater Chicago and Wisconsin Chapters during July 11-14, 2018. FANHS-HSC presented it’s 2nd $500.00 FANHS-HSC scholarship, with the help of a member who wishes to remain anonymous, to a hopeful FANHS mentor. Mahalo to all of FANHS HSC supporters at the Chicago Conference, especially the Arizona Chapter. Aloha, Chicago!
