The F.O.B. Project

Photos donated by Elena Clariza

The F.O.B. student project at Farrington High School on Oahu focused on the building of a bangka (Bangka: a Filipino canoe). This project was supported and  guided to completion by teachers and a consultant with direct knowledge of the bangka. During the building project, students  developed a greater appreciation of their individual history, working together towards a common goal and more. Some of the participants in this project are presented in these photos taken at various stages of their bangka building project. Upon completion, the bangka will be launched near Waikiki. The FOB project is supported by the FANHS Hawaii State Chapter and other community groups.
